Blackbuck hunting provides our guests with one of the most challenging outdoor situations available and our fantastic trips can now be enjoyed at any time of the year (although the best times are in the early fall, then from winter through early summer).
As if the challenge of harvesting one of these fascinating creatures wasn’t enough, hunters have been captivated by Blackbuck hunting because of the magnificent trophies these creatures have to offer. These prime exotics have incredibly attractive horns that make a wonderful mount.
Native to India and Pakistan where they continue to enjoy a widespread presence in open forests and plains, the experience of blackbuck hunting is now available to the increasing number of visitors that have taken their places at our highly acclaimed Texas Hill Country lodge.
Just watching the dominant male control his herd of does can be quite a treat. With his dark upper body strongly contrasting his white belly and eye rings he clearly stands out from the light tan females, fawns and younger bucks. His dark, ridged horns spiral upward for up to four turns. With his ears back and his nose held high he intimidates his charges and moves them where he wants them, always protecting his right to the does. He does not shy away from any animal, regardless of size.
Our lodge has the room to accommodate parties of up to eight hunters in total comfort. We’ve been extending some traditional Texas hospitality to our guest for many years and enjoy the thrill of welcoming new hunters to our excellent facilities as well as seeing old friends and familiar faces who rate our blackbuck hunting trips as being some of the best to be found anywhere.
You'll be able to relax and dine in pleasant surroundings and enjoy gourmet meals prepared specially for you and your companions by our chef. Later, on why not relax with your party in full view of our floodlit feeding area that attracts an extensive selection of wild animals as night begins to tall. Enjoy a beverage or two and share stories of past hunts with your friends before retiring to our comfortable rooms for a calm night of sleep, to wake up refreshed and focused for the Blackbuck hunting experience of a lifetime.
Every guest at our lodge is individually paired with their own personal guide who is fully experienced with working alongside hunters on a one-to-one basis. Although stalking and safari-style hunts may be considered for Blackbuck the conventional box blind has proved most successful. Rifle shots of 80 to 120 yards are commonly required. Your guide will recover your trophy and cleani it in preparation for the butcher and taxidermist. Even though it's the mount you're after you won't want to pass up the excellent meat as well.
Our hunters also love the experience of seeing a diverse range of wildlife including Whitetails, Axis deer and a full selection of exotics.
Working with our guides, you’ll soon be in the envious position of being within yards of these elusively difficult shots as you line up for the trophy-claiming hit. The challenge is not only to make the shot, but also to remain calm as the adrenaline is pumping and your heart is pounding.
