Because of our commitment to making your stay as memorable as possible, our guides will hunt alongside you on a one-to-one basis to make sure you don’t miss a thing. Trained to accurately age Whitetail bucks and knowledgeable of the train our guides use field observations and game camera records to put you in front of great animals and to help you select the harvest you’re after.

Buck Valley Ranch enjoys an elongated Whitetail season because of our “Managed Land Deer Permit” issued by the state of Texas. Working with Texas Parks and Wildlife we establish the target harvest for each season and receive permits to harvest these animals. Whitetail tags issued to individual hunters may not be used. Our season begins the last weekend in September and continues until the end of February. Normally we complete the target harvest in December.

We believe in Whitetail hunting the way the hunter wants it. Rifles, muzzle loaders and bow and arrow have all been successfully employed for past hunts.

Because of careful habitat management, planned harvest programs and effective supplemental feeding you’ll see magnificent bucks. Our “management” Whitetail, with 9 or fewer points, are often the biggest buck our hunters have ever seen. We’ve worked hard to craft that delicate balance of challenging hunting conditions with excellent opportunity for success.

Whitetail hunting is our specialty. We primarily hunt from ten box blinds, three elevated stands, tree stands and ad-hoc ground blinds strategically placed throughout the property. Corn feeders and food plots provide the magnets to draw the game. Rifle shots of 80 to 120 yards can be expected while most bow shots are about 20 yards.
